Not only is orange juice delicious, but it is also extraordinarily healthy.

You may be aware that oranges are an excellent source of vitamin C, but did you know there is evidence that they can help prevent kidney stones? Or that it can reduce cholesterol levels?

Well, it can and has many other health benefits that I cannot wait to tell you about.

Discover what they are below.

Health Advantages Of Orange Juice

1. Anti-Inflammatory

Orange juice has been found to have anti-inflammatory properties that may aid in the prevention of metabolic conditions such as high blood pressure, abdominal fat, and high blood sugar.

This suggests that it may aid in weight loss, but it is difficult to say as the study is still in its infancy. It is also believed that inflammation may be linked to depression, so drinking orange juice may help lift the haze from your eyes if you suffer from depression.

2. It May Prevent Kidney Stones

Even though orange juice is acidic, it can help alkalize the body and restore its ph balance. This can aid in various bodily processes and is generally considered a healthier state than an overly acidic body.

However, a better ph balance in your urine significantly reduces your risk of developing kidney stones. Kidney stones can be excruciating to pass, so this is undoubtedly a positive development.

3. Beneficial To The Skin

Oranges are rich in vitamin C, which benefits skin health and youthfulness. Vitamin C helps create a barrier in your skin that prevents it from being damaged by UV rays and other everyday irritants.

It can also prevent the breakdown of collagen that causes wrinkles and sagging skin, thereby preserving your skin’s radiance and smoothness. Isn’t it true that this product is superb for your skin?

4. High in Antioxidants

Vitamin C is also an important antioxidant that can protect you from free radicals, molecules derived from things like pollution that try to change all of your body’s cells and can even alter your DNA!

But it also damages your hair, skin, eyesight, and everything else in your body, so it’s a good idea to have enough antioxidants to fight them off and prevent them from causing damage.

5. Reduces Cholesterol

A study revealed that people who regularly consume orange juice have lower total Cholesterol and bad Cholesterol than those who do not regularly drink orange juice.

Bad Cholesterol is the type that clogs arteries and can reduce blood flow, whereas good Cholesterol removes this and sends it to the liver, where it is broken down and excreted or stored for later use. Some cholesterol is healthy; the problem arises when there is too much.

This a tasty way to win back your doctor’s support if they’ve been warning you about your high Cholesterol!

6. High in Vitamin A and Great For Your Eyes

Oranges are rich in vitamin A, which, along with vitamin C, is beneficial for the immune system. In addition, vitamin A is excellent for your eyes, as it can prevent their degeneration and the formation of cataracts as you age.

Carrots are a good source of Vitamin A, but they do not help you see in the dark. During World War II, the British troops had radar that allowed them to see enemy planes from a distance, but they did not want the enemy to know this, so they began a propaganda campaign claiming that carrots helped them see in the dark.

I bet you didn’t expect to learn this interesting fact while reading this article.

7. Reduced Risk Of Cardiovascular Conditions

Folate and folic acids are both found in orange juice. If you’re pregnant, you’ve probably heard about its ability to prevent congenital disabilities, but even non-pregnant individuals can benefit from its power to prevent strokes and heart attacks.

If you already have high blood pressure, having a stroke is a severe and potentially life-threatening issue. Fortunately, in the United States, a government directive was issued to begin fortifying grains with folate, which has helped to reduce the number of strokes, but having a little extra won’t hurt anyone.

8. Balances Blood Pressure

Orange juice is a source of potassium, which helps to counteract the adverse effects of salt and maintain a healthy blood pressure level. Because too much salt in the body causes excessive water retention, one of the causes of high blood pressure. Consequently, consuming less sodium and more potassium is a great way to combat this.

This complements folate perfectly to prevent heart attacks and strokes and keeps you healthy. Numerous small changes result in a healthier life, which is especially beneficial if you have a stressful job that can contribute to high blood pressure.

Is Pulp Orange Juice Pulp Healthier?

I’ve discussed this in greater detail in another article, but the short answer is no, neither is healthier than the other; they are simply distinct. Pulp is essentially the fiber that aids digestion and feces production. However, insoluble fiber, which your body uses to absorb nutrients, is present regardless of whether a pulp is in your glass.

However, there is such a small amount of pulp in orange juice that it doesn’t make a significant difference either way; drink it however you prefer!

Does Orange Juice Have Vitamin D?

Although oranges ripen in the sun, they do not contain vitamin D. Therefore, you will need to take a sunny vacation and drink orange juice in the sun to get enough vitamin D. I know what a shame it is!

Best Time To Drink Orange Juice

My favorite time to consume orange juice is in the morning with breakfast, as it provides all the benefits throughout the day and is a delicious way to start the day. However, any time is good because the health benefits are more long-term than short-term energy boosts or other uses.

Orange juice is more of a beverage that should be consumed regularly to maintain its health benefits, not excessively because it contains sugar, but as part of a well-balanced diet; it is an excellent way to prevent heart disease.

Fresh vs. store-bought

This is Juice Buff, where we discuss juicing extensively, so making your juice is the best option because it is fresher and free of preservatives. However, store-bought juice also has its benefits.

Sometimes, store-bought orange juice is fortified with additional vitamins and minerals, enhancing the health benefits that are already present. Additionally, store-bought orange juice has a longer shelf life and is much simpler to consume than freshly squeezed orange juice.

But, as previously mentioned, freshly squeezed juice is free of preservatives; I prefer a chemical-free diet, it tastes better, and you use less plastic because you are not constantly dealing with a plastic bottle or carton.
