In recent years, juicing for health has garnered widespread attention in the media. Whenever there is a new health fad, the question of whether it is healthy for me arises. Regarding the health benefits of juicing, the answer depends on how you juice and what fruits and vegetables you use.

Juicingis the easiest way to ensure you’re getting the recommended daily intake of fruits and vegetables and the nutrients they provide, so long as you’re not giving up food to live on juice alone. To ensure that you can reap the health benefits of juicing, we have compiled this brief guide on how to juice healthily and our four favorite health benefits of juicing.

How To Create Healthy Juices

When it comes to juicing, there are a few things you need to keep in mind to make sure you’re doing it right. First and foremost, you want to ensure that the fruits and vegetables you’re using are fresh and high-quality. This is important because the fresher the produce, the more nutrients and vitamins it will contain.

In addition to using fresh produce, you also want to ensure that you’re juicing the suitable fruits and vegetables. Some fruits and vegetables are better for juicing than others. For example, leafy greens like spinach and kale contain nutrients and vitamins and make great juice ingredients. On the other hand, fruits like strawberries and bananas are also great for juicing but are higher in natural sugars.

You want to do so slowly and carefully when juicing the fruits and vegetables. This is important because you don’t want to damage the nutrients and vitamins in the produce. An excellent way to do this is to use a masticating juicer. It is masticating juicers work by slowly grinding and crushing the crop, which helps preserve its nutrients.

Once you’ve juiced your fruits and vegetables, it’s essential to drink the juice right away. This is because the nutrients in the juice begin to degrade as soon as it’s exposed to air. So, if you’re not going to drink the juice right away, store it in an airtight container in the fridge.

Following these tips, you can be sure that you’re making healthy and delicious juices packed with nutrients and vitamins. So, get juicing today!

Juicing For Health: 3 Tips

1. Consume a greater quantity of vegetables than fruits

Everyone enjoys the occasional glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, but the only health benefit is the vitamin C boost. And for individuals, such as diabetics, the sugar levels in fluid must be safe. A good balance of vegetables and fruits is a simple way to ensure that the nutritional value of your juice outweighs the natural sugar content.

For instance, a juice containing only carrots and apples tastes excellent and provides health benefits. Still, a liquid containing carrots, apples, cucumber, celery, ginger, and a small handful of spinach would be significantly more healthful.

2. Drink it fresh and (ideally) in the morning

By consuming juice on an empty stomach, your body can quickly and easily absorb the juice’s nutrients (and the associated health benefits) as they pass through the digestive tract. Additionally, it is recommended to consume juice fresh. While juice can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 72 hours, there are two main reasons to finish it sooner: fresh juice will always taste better, and the fresher the juice, the more nutrients you will receive. This is because exposure to light and air will quickly cause some nutrients to degrade.

3. Consider adding fats & protein

By including healthy fats and protein in your daily juice, you can take it to an entirely new level. Add a couple of tablespoons of chia seeds to your juice (not the juicer!) for an excellent boost of Omega 3-fatty acids, which are essential for brain health and mental clarity. Alternately, you could include a minute quantity of coconut or flax oil. This addition of fat will also make the juice more filling, which is especially important if you substitute a juice for breakfast.

Consider adding protein to your juice as powdered amino acids; however, be sure to add EAA (essential amino acids) and not BCAA (branched-chain amino acids). Essential amino acids, which the body cannot manufacture, are required by all individuals. These amino acids are typically obtained from meats, quinoa, lentils, and other foods. Consider adding protein to your juice in the form of these powered amino acids if you intend to replace a meal with juice, are regularly active, or follow a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle.

Top 4 Benefits Of Juicing

More Nutrients, Less Chewing

Fruits and vegetables will never be entirely replaced by juicing; the fiber we obtain from whole foods is crucial. However, the micronutrients easily absorbed and digested through the consumption of fresh juice may be required in much more significant quantities.

Get Nutrition From Vegetables You Don’t Enjoy Eating

How frequently will you consume a particular vegetable if you dislike it? You may rationally understand that the health benefits of that vegetable or fruit are excellent, but if you don’t consume it, it won’t be of much use. Why not disguise its flavor with other fruits and vegetables that you prefer? The beauty of juicing lies in this.

Better Gut Health

It is now common knowledge that gut health is crucially important. Many vegetables and some fruits naturally contain prebiotics, which promotes the growth of healthy bacteria in the stomach and intestines. If you consume plenty of fiber from other sources, juicing is an excellent way to consume far more prebiotics from vegetables than anyone would typically consume.

Disease Prevention

The internet is filled with claims that juicing is not as beneficial as people have claimed. And while we acknowledge that a diet consisting solely of juice is not healthy (except for short-term cleanses supervised by a physician), the liquid is an excellent supplement. If you typically consume one cup of vegetables per day, whether you juice, it is a fantastic idea to add a healthy, balanced juice to your diet. You will increase your overall intake of nutrient-dense foods and aid in the prevention of a laundry list of diseases caused in part by our fast-food culture.

Is Juicing Good For You?

Yes! If you pay close attention to the ingredients you include in your juices, juicing can be incredibly healthy for you. It’s a fantastic way to consume far more nutrients than the average person can typically consume. In the end, the health benefits of juicing vastly outweigh any potential drawbacks; if you follow our few tips, you won’t even need to ask if juicing is healthy because you’ll feel the difference.

How Should I Use A Juicer?

We carry a vast selection of juicers at different prices. Check out our full selection of centrifugal juicers, which utilize speed and force to extract juice, and our selection of masticating juicers, also known as cold press juicers, which “chew” fruits and vegetables to extract the juice. Here is an article describing the best masticating juicers.

And twin gear juicers use twin stainless steel interlocking gears (augers) to grind produce and are generally considered the best juicers available. We’ve listed our top-selling products in each category below to facilitate the selection.
