How To Make Deep Dish Pizza
It is unnecessary to be Italian or a professional chef to prepare my delicious pizza recipe.
The pizza pan is what makes this a homemade Chicago-style pizza. I could not have created this recipe without my GoodCook Double-Sided Deep-Dish Pizza Pan. This pan measures 15.5 inches in diameter and 2.5 inches in depth, so my pizza can be loaded with mozzarella cheese, bell peppers, mushrooms, pepperoni, olives, and a generous tomato sauce.
- Using a large electric mixer with a dough hook or by hand, combine your dry ingredients and yeast.
- After combining the dry ingredients, pour in warm water and olive oil. The dough will form a cohesive, sticky ball.
- Using an electric mixer or hand, knead the dough on a floured surface for 6 to 8 minutes.
- After kneading the dough, please place it in a lightly greased bowl tightly covered with plastic wrap for 1 to 2 hours.
- Roll the dough into a 16-inch diameter circle on a surface dusted with flour.
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (210 C).
- Spread the rolled-out dough across your deep-dish pizza pan that has been greased. Using your fingers, line the pan’s walls with the dough.
- After layering the dough with cheese, add your preferred fillings. Utilize this fantastic opportunity to be inventive! Then add pizza sauce on top.
- Bake for 45 minutes or longer, if you prefer. The homemade yeasty crust is golden and crisp after baking, and the fillings are a molten mixture of pizza heaven.

- Combine ground pork with oregano, basil, garlic, fennel seeds, salt, and pepper.
- Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until it is time to assemble the pizza.
Assembling The Deep Dish Pizza
- Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit (210oC). To transfer pizza dough to a deep dish pizza pans, roll the dough gently around a rolling pin.
- Unroll the dough across the pan and use your fingertips to press it into the pan to line the pan’s walls. It’s ideal if some dough hangs over the edge, as this ensures enough crust to cover the entire pizza.
- Next, layer the toppings, beginning with the cheese, followed by the peppers, mushrooms, pepperoni, and olives.
- If desired, top each filling with extra pepperoni, olives, and sauce.
- Using scissors, cut off any excess crust that may be hanging over the sides of the pan, and crush the remaining crust with olive oil. This will produce a crust with a very professional appearance.
- Bake for 45 minutes. If necessary, bake for 5 to 10 minutes longer.
- After baking, remove the bread from the oven and allow it to cool slightly before slicing.
- Cover and refrigerate for a maximum of 3 days.
How To Make Deep Dish Pizza -Tips and Tricks
- While the pizza is cooking, the raw sausage will cook, so there is no need to cook it beforehand.
- As described in the preceding section, this deep-dish pizza can be frozen.
- If you do not wish to make your dough, you can purchase dough balls from a local grocery store.
- This pizza can be customized with any toppings you desire.

How Should I Keep Leftover Deep-Dish Pizza?
When properly stored in an airtight container such as a Tupperware container or ziptop bag, Deep Dish Pizza will last up to four days.
This pizza can also be frozen for consumption later. Repackage in an airtight container or plastic wrap followed by a layer of foil.
This should last 1-2 months in the freezer; defrost in the refrigerator and reheat in the microwave or on a low oven setting.
