The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

There are many types of Delicious Cookies from almond to zucchini.  Here are some tips to guarantee that your Cookies will be perfect.

Follow the recipe and measure the ingredients carefully.  Do not scoop the flour, as that will pack it down and you will end up with a dryer cookie.

Use cookie sheets with little or no sides and place each uniform cookie about two inches apart so Cookies will bake evenly and quickly.

Preheat the oven and place only one cookie sheet at a time in the middle to allow the heat to flow evenly.  Bake for the minimum time and add more time sparingly.

  • 1 cup butter flavored shortening
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups milk chocolate chips


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Grease cookie sheets.  
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter flavored shortening, brown sugar and white sugar until light and fluffy.  
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well with each addition, then stir in the vanilla.  
  5. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; gradually stir into the creamed mixture.
  6. Finally, fold in the chocolate chips.  Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheets.  
  7. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, until light brown.  Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.  
  8. Store cookies in an airtight container and put wax paper between rows of cookies.  Share and enjoy them with your friends and family!  Milk always goes well as a cold beverage.
