Ingredients for the Recipe

  1. 3 cups all-purpose flour
  2. 4 teaspoon baking powder
  3. 1 teaspoon baking soda
  4. 1 and ½ teaspoon salt
  5. ¾ cup chilled unsalted butter
  6. 1 cup buttermilk
  7. 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  8. ¼ cup turbinado sugar
  9. 1 cup white sugar
  10. 8 cups sliced strawberries
  11. 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Directions for Recipe

  1. Preheat the oven to 220 C or 425 F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
  2. Take flour, baking powder, baking soda, ⅓ cup white sugar, salt and whisk it in a bowl.
  3. Take cold butter and cut it with a knife or pastry blender until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs
  4. Add buttermilk into the flour mixture and stir until it is moistened.
  5. Take the prepared baking sheet and put ⅓ cup of dough 2 inches apart on it
  6. Out cream on biscuits and sprinkle turbinado sugar as per personal preference
  7. Preheat the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown
  8. Take sliced strawberries, ¼ cup white sugar, lemon juice and mix them in a bowl and allow berries to release juices into the mixture ( for about 30 minutes)
  9. Serve strawberries with juice over biscuits

Tip of the recipe

You can put flour mixture into a work bowl or a food processor with the butter and pulse several times to mix butter into the mixture. Transfer the mixture to the bowl and move forward.
